Friendly, below average turnover of staff , closely knit firm based in the York area seeks enthusiastic, professional secretary to join their busy expanding dept. This is a genuinely exciting opportunity to join a busy firm offering variety, plenty of work within a secure environment. He/she must have substantial legal, medical, patent or other professional level of experience along with strong and accurate audio touch typing speeds of at least 55wpm+
Secretarial
Producing correspondence and specifications via copy and audio typing
Invoicing and billing clients
Booking meeting rooms, catering, travel and accommodation
Diary and email management
Producing presentation slides using PowerPoint
Creating Word and Excel tables and Adobe Acrobat documents
Assisting fee earners to meet their deadlines
Research
Assisting Office Manager when required with administration duties
Dealing with sensitive and confidential matters on behalf of the partnership
Taking incoming calls and greeting visiting clients
Assisting with the administration of client seminars
Candidate Skills and Experience: The successful applicant will meet the following criteria:
Secretarial experience gained in a legal firm
Excellent attention to detail with high levels of accuracy
Must have demonstrable experience of working effectively to deadlines
Able to prioritise work efficiently
A team player who will willingly assist colleagues
Have an interest in the subject matter and develop an understanding of the legal processes
Sound knowledge of Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint; plus Adobe Acrobat ideally
Some knowledge of troubleshooting printer problems and advanced Word is desirable
Have a friendly and lively personality
