The Senior Consultant undertakes business and technical application consultancy role for fee paying customers. This role provides consultancy support in the area of PLM applications and service delivery with particular emphasis on producing solutions to meet customer business needs whilst enhancing SIS corporate results through improved revenues and/or reduced costs.
Dimensions of Role
This role is responsible for the translation of business requirements into specific practical systems, applications or process designs for the Siemens PLM Software solution in line with the customer’s engineering and manufacturing processes and requirements. Act as the ultimate authority on the architecture design to address business problems. Provides direction for design, deployment and rollout activities either internally of at customer sites. Acts as a trusted advisor to customers, providing guidance through the complexity of requirements and solutions. Work with Architects, Project Managers, and other internal & external interfaces to ensure that the customer succeeds in their objectives.. This function is discharged in developing technical strategies for implementation across SIS as a whole and/or by undertaking assignments for individual accounts, bids and operational teams. The job holder will normally operate as part of a team or individually on specific customer accounts.

Act as the Technical Authority to project scoping documentation
Responsible for planning phase documentation
Contribute to technical aspects of issues, constraints and risk management documents
Contribute to technical aspects of Configuration Management documents
Accurately document software issues and enhancement requests
Technical, functional and business processes
Consulltancy Assignements
Conduct consultancy assignments in support of SIS propositions to customers and participate in bid teams as required.
Communicate and present the Siemens PLM product portfolio and vision
Provide input to responses to customer requests
Articulate viable solutions in response to incoming requests for proposal.
Define terms of reference for and undertake all assignments in accordance with the SIS resource allocation process.
Lead multi-discipline consultancy teams as required.
Keep abreast of developments in IS/IT and PLM based technologies and services, including policies and imperatives to improve the SIS GB&I Portfolio

Mission
To work with a team of PLM consultants undertaking consultancy, proposal and delivery assignments. The Senior PLM Consultant is an active consultant who will also act as team lead for consultant team deployments.
Dimensions of Role
The Senior PLM Consultant is responsible for working with and within delivery competence centres, supporting opportunity development, where appropriate, maintaining relationships with customers, recognizing, feeding back and ensuring that new opportunities are transferred into the management process.
He/she needs to be capable of engaging at all levels from shop floor to heads of department and lead
a team of consultants undertaking a variety of consultancy engagements with specific skills.
Portfolio Development
Assist with existing portfolio development and management and provide support to development and extension of portfolio focus into specific growth and emerging sectors.
Transformational Customer Leadership
As a member of a team led or guided by a principle consultant, advise customers by articulating Siemens IT Solutions and Services’ vision, position and value in relation to the customer's industry, market and competition to assist with influence of the customer's strategy and requirements
Work with customers to understand their business strategy and define a high level solution outline that supports that strategy

Participate in creation and and deliverivery of professional transformational solution presentations focused on communicating the realisation of the solution in the context of the Siemens IT Solutions and Services portfolio.
Communicate comfortably around the business challenges, enterprise PLM solutions, and wider architectures in order to advise customers

Project Management

Client Management

Ensure successful completion of assignments and generation of new business.
Design and Consulting
Specify solutions and projects for consultancy assignments, SIS proposals and accounts in order to meet client business requirements.
Provide solution architect and consulting support to Siemens and Partner teams across a number of ongoing projects with an emphasis on consult and design phases.
Support to professional services and partner teams
Run workshops with the customer for technical requirements gathering, Fit/Gap analysis, solution design/definition, and design reviews.
Provide analysis to the Business as necessary for the correct articulation and prioritisation of their requirements
Advice
Provide professional advice, knowledge and guidance for the development and delivery of business and technical strategies for clients, SIS and professional bodies.
People Management
Build, direct, lead and motivate idividual project teams to successful project delivery.
Cost Management & Commercial Awareness
Ensure revenue and utilisation targets for team are met.
Assist in the monitoring, reviewing and reporting of costs to cost centre owner to ensure adherence to the project budgets.
Prerequisites for the role:
A high level of experience based understanding of Product Lifecycle Management
Experience of working with lifecycle process and practices enabled by PLM software.
Consultancy experience
PLM project and implementation experience
Pre-sales experience able to support Sales and Account Managers in customer engagements
Support conceptualizitaion, translaion and application of PLM into growth and emerging sectors and asist with concept and portfolio development.
Business experience in specific Industries where PLM is deployed
Commercial Awareness
A knowledge of Siemens PLM offerings would be an advantage
