A Specialist Employment Provider seeks an Employment Support Worker for their new and exciting partnership project providing employment support for people with mental health difficulties in Haringey at a number of differ community centres.

You will be one of a team of peripatetic employment support workers who will provide individually focused information advice and guidance (close to IPS Model), vocational profiling, and action planning in a range of outside venues including CMHTs, GP surgeries, libraries, community centres and adult learning centres. You will also spend at least one day a week at the Centre connecting clients and supporting colleagues and service users on the Work Ordered Day. The Centre has a retail outlet, external catering service and transitional employment programme. These enterprises support employment outcomes and you may from time to time work in these areas too.

As well as providing individually focused employment support, information advice and guidance (including vocational profiling and action planning and reviews) you will also deliver job clubs and employment workshops in community venues. These will bring workers and groups of clients together and will provide rapid job search, application support, peer support and the sharing of practice and experience.

To interview for this role you must have knowledge and experience of developing and supporting people into mainstream employment, good written and oral communication skills, the ability to work effectively with people with mental health problems or other disabilities, together with multi-agency liaison and sound organisational skills.

Also desirable is experience of support working, including assisting individuals in developing their goals and a willingness to work towards NVQ level 2/3 in Information Advice and Guidance. Knowledge/experience of employment and benefit issues facing people with mental health problems would also be beneficial.

This is a full time permanent post with a generous pension scheme, excellent training and support, with opportunities for career progression. Please apply for more information about this opportunity.
