Social Worker including NQSW vacancies – 2 posts
Sunderland City Council is committed to the development and support of Newly Qualified Social Workers. Newly appointed Social Workers to the Council will be required to undertake an Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) – this will provide individuals an opportunity for ongoing growth and development as a professional social worker.
The ASYE is a learning agreement completed at the start of the first year in employment. This includes:
• Quarterly reflective supervision
• Statement on reduced workload during first year of employment
• A personal development plan
• Timetable for personal development plan
• Final assessment by employer of NQSW’s knowledge, skills and performance.
Newly qualified Social Workers will develop a range of skills and knowledge over their ASYE year. You will be working with Looked After Children, Co working cases where children are subject to a Child Protection plan and legal proceedings. You will also take more independent work with Children in Need and their families. You will gain experience in direct work with service users, the preparation of reports and attendance at multi agency meetings.
You must have HCPC registration and a recognised Social Work qualification, you must also be familiar with a range of ICT packages.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore will be subject to a criminal record check from the Criminal records Bureau.
