Job Title: General Ledger, Country Team Leader, German Region

Location: Berks

Salary: c£45K + Bonus + Bens


Our client a Global Provider of Data Center services, are seeking a German speaking General Ledger Country Team Leader to be responsible for the General Ledger accounting of the German region within the outsourced Services Centre, Europe (e.g. UK, Germany, France, Switzerland, Netherlands etc).

Responsible for the integrity of all GL entries to include accruals, prepayments, reserves, inter-company, fixed assets, etc, you will also manage the close process for respective country (ies). You will ensure GL related policies & controls (SOX & otherwise) are adhered to and Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations at month end etc.

You will be responsible for one or more virtual Managed Service Centre country team(s) and 1st point of contact within this for respective country Finance Manager(s) and carry out the following:

Conduct regular Managed Service Centre reviews with country Finance Manager(s). Co-ordinate with the relevant AP and AR personnel for respective country (ies) and provide technical expertise and guidance to AP and AR teams re individual transactions and processes within their areas. Part of this role will involve participating in projects (e.g. future migration projects, future systems rollouts, etc) across Europe and your region.

Qualifications & Experience

Ideal Experience:
General Accounting, ideally within a pan-European Shared Service Centre (SSC) environment of a US multinational or similar

Working in a European SSC or Managed Service (MS) and serving remote, multi-cultural customers

Qualified Accountant (CIMA or equivalent), IFRS etc.

QBE or Part-Qualified with adequate SSC experience may also be considered

Proven experience of US GAAP

Knowledge of local accounting practices for the Swiss Regions may be an advantage

Detailed knowledge of Oracle GL (Oracle OM, AR, AP, FA an advantage)

English and German and other European languages:- French, Dutch

Strong process bias and able to set up new processes to meet Accounting Standards

Good communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills - In English

German and possibly Dutch

Competent using Excel/Word/Outlook

Structured / Organised approach to work

Ability to travel within Europe to visit Financial Managers and team etc.
