ROLE: ADMINISTRATIVE CLERK (fixed term to 31 March 2013)
LOCATION: Melmerby, near Ripon (North Yorkshire Police Authority offices)
RANK/GRADE: SCALE 1; £14,529 - £15,774 per annum

An opportunity has arisen for an Administrative Clerk to work for North Yorkshire Police Authority (NYPA).

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person to join our small support team based at Melmerby, near Ripon to provide basic administrative support to members of North Yorkshire Police Authority and the Support Unit.

The responsibilities of the role include providing a polite and courteous reception service; greeting visitors to the site and answering telephone calls in an efficient and effective manner. The post holder will also be required to undertake filing in accordance with NYPA protocols; produce and distribute documents including incoming and outgoing mail.

Essential requirements of the role include:
  • Ability to produce high standards of work to meet specific deadlines whilst
maintaining accuracy and quality of data at all times.
  • Must have excellent customer care skills, including telephone manner.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages, especially Word and
Excel.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a similar administrative or secretarial role within a professional and confidential office environment.
The post will be for a fixed term to 31 March 2013.
