Start date : October 1st, 2014. The post is for a fixed one-year term.
Salary : 424 884 DKK pa (approx. £45,000 pa) including a 17% pension contribution.
A postdoctoral researcher position is available for a collaborative project between Aarhus University (Aarhus, Denmark) and the University of Sussex (Brighton, United Kingdom). This research position will focus on the design, assessment (including large-scale data collection) of social cognition tasks for eventual testing in target patient groups. The post would suit an individual (psychologist or computer scientist) with a computing background and an interest in the mind, psychometrics, social cognition, learning models, and clinical testing.
PhD/DPhil in psychology, psychiatry, psychometrics, neuroscience, computer science or related field.
Candidates must have submitted their PhD thesis before the position start date.
Programming / scripting ability
Experience with statistical analysis
Experience/Knowledge of psychometrics and factor analysis
Knowledge or interest in the fields of social cognition or social learning
Experience with analysis software such as SPSS , Matlab, R or similar
Experience with subject recruitment and/or online testing.
Creativity in task design
Ability to summarise, comprehend and present psychology research.
Familiar with Amazon Turk
Familiar with app development

The researcher will spend most of their time at the School of Psychology at the University of Sussex.
The department is a rich and diverse research environment with outstanding facilities, faculty and high research impact. The University of Sussex is in Brighton, UK. Brighton is a vibrant seaside city, 45 minutes by train from London. The University of Sussex is also home to the world-class Sackler Centre for Consciousness Science.

The post benefits from high postdoctoral salary and pension plan. Foreign researchers wishing to be based (and therefore taxed) in Denmark may qualify for reduced taxation.
