An opportunity has arisen for an experienced audio typist to join the medical secretaries’ team at the Sussex Eye Hospital.

The post holder will be responsible for processing out-patient clinic letters from digital dictation, typing test result letters to patients, dealing with telephone enquiries, and other administrative tasks as necessary. The post holder will also assist in providing cover for secretarial colleagues when they are away.

We are looking for someone who has experience of working in a hospital environment, has excellent communication and organisational skills. It is essential that candidates have GCSE English Language, Grade C or above (or equivalent) RSA III typing, and experience of using Microsoft Office. A good knowledge of medical terminology is required.

Candidates will need to have a flexible approach to work and be able to work under pressure in a busy office environment.
