Reports to Head Receptionist



Working in the reception area of the hotel you will report to the Head Receptionist and your main area of responsibility is assisting in the administration of the hotel and in the sales of hotel bedrooms to the public.


These include, but are not limited to, the following:
· confidently dealing with enquiries at the front desk or on the telephone
· taking room reservations in accordance with company procedures
· booking in coach and private guests and checking out these guests in accordance with company procedures
· the use of the computer and basic administrative duties
· the sale of sundry items at reception i.e. souvenirs, postcards, newspapers etc
· the maintenance of company books in respect of lost property, maintenance items, security of keys, reporting of accidents, contractors and visitors
· the accurate receipt and accounting for monies taken
· maximising sales of any description to increase revenue at the desk
· compliance with legislation concerning health and safety at work, fire safety and food hygiene
· l iaising with Managers, other Heads of D epartments and colleagues to ensure smooth running of your department and the hotel in general
· develop knowledge in line with company expectations through experiential le arning and recommended training
· other duties as may from time to time be required by the Head Receptionist or the General Manager
