LOCUM SPECIALTY DOCTOR - HAEMATOLOGY
Walsall Manor Hospital is looking to appoint a Locum Specialty Doctor to commence 10th September 2012 period of three months initially but may be extended. This post is to cover a vacancy that has arisen within the department that we are currently seeking to appoint substantively. The postholder will be required to work 10 PAs - 9.00am-5.00pm Monday to Friday.
This post designed to work in the department of Haematology for 10 sessions per week and undertake outpatient clinics and ward rounds. The post requires a highly motivated doctor and will complement the work of the existing Specialty Trainee and Foundation doctors to provide assessment, review and continuing care of patients. In addition the post holder will work closely with both Consultants in Haematology and the clinical Haematology team. There is a dedicated weekly Haematology Clinic staffed by two Consultants and a Specialty Doctor.
The successful candidate must possess a Basic Medical qualification (eg MBBS or equivalent) able to demonstrate relevant experience of qualification to undertake this middle grade position and resuscitation skills are essential. Possession of DGM/MRCP (or equivalent) is desirable as is the ability to undertake bone marrow aspirates and trephines.
