About WCN: Willis Commercial Network (WCN) was a start up business for Willis UK in 1999 and we have now grown to over 80 members. In 2008 we started a second network, Willis N2, which is aimed at smaller community brokers. This is rapidly expanding and currently has circa 20 members. Together, these two entities are known as Willis Networks and they are collectively managed by the same team of Willis personnel.

This successful Willis Networks operation is now looking to recruit a Product Development Manager. This person will work for the Operations Director and their main areas of responsibility/key tasks will be:

1) Development and maintenance of Willis Networks commercial products:

Negotiating with leading insurers to develop and maintain a range of comprehensive commercial products unique to the Willis Networks, working with technical specialists within the Willis Group where appropriate.

Periodic review of the products to ensure market parity.

Liaison with other parts of Willis, including the Willis Underwriting Facility, on ongoing product development.

Reviewing potential areas for general product development.

Competitor product analysis & product comparisons where required.

2) Coordinating the delivery of products onto supported IT platforms:

Working with Insurers and supported software companies to manage the build, delivery and subsequent updates of products compatible with the Willis Networks supported IT systems.

Working with broker members, software companies and Willis Networks colleagues to design, build and deliver ongoing enhancements to appropriate products and functionalities.

3) Ongoing technical support and training to the members of Willis Networks and the Willis Networks team:

Technical assistance to broker members to interpret policy wordings.

Developing and delivering Willis Networks product training.

Provision of content for technical bulletins.

Ongoing analysis and research into emerging issues and their impact on insurance.

Skills / Qualifications
Skills/Experience Required

Technical capability across a range of commercial insurance products

Broad knowledge of the insurance market

Good communication, negotiating and influencing skills

The successful candidate will need to

have a good eye for and an interest in technical detail

be well organised

be efficient

be self motivated

be able to work independently and to hit strict deadlines

be prepared to occasionally travel within the UK when required

An insurance qualification is preferred
