Taking on this challenge you will have to manage the Engineering department and hold the Design Authority for Infrastructure Delivery Group, take responsibility for establishing engineering procedures and oversight of the design process in delivery. Approve design documents, take ownership and management responsibility for resource allocation to dedicated project teams and operations support. You will have to produce and manage the annual engineering budget planning and the gaining of approval. Design controls and trend programmes, value engineering and NPV analysis, Engineering strategic planning.
You will have at your charge the management of engineering non-technical activities such as, the group members' salary planning, group members' bonus scheme implementation, group resource planning. Secure the long-term future of the business by requiring the development of existing personnel, strategic hiring and maintaining an appropriate age-profile, commensurate with retaining experience and business knowledge. Constantly review the effectiveness of the engineering organisation and re-model where necessary to meet emerging trends and requirement. Ensure that engineering is positioned to assimilate and implement emerging.
To be considered for this role you will need to be a Charted Engineer, with Rail Experience, Engineering management experience is essential.
