That is where you come in, providing our highly successful and innovative IAPT/Talking Therapies delivery model as part of the Brighton & Hove Wellbeing Service.
With the remit to provide effective support to people with emotional or psychological difficulties, this Primary Care led service is based in a number of GP practices, with the aim that clients should receive the right care, from the right person at the right time.
Working in partnership with the Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust, Brighton and Hove Integrated Care Services, local GP Practices and Mind, we support people suffering from mild to moderate anxiety and depression as part of an integrated wellbeing service comprising of Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, Primary Care Mental Health Workers and Talking Therapists. Turning Point deliver the low intensity element of this IAPT and wellbeing service and our CBT based interventions are both person-centred and varied, ranging from guided self-help and face-to-face or telephone support to workshop courses. The result is a highly accessible and user-friendly service capable of meeting the needs of this diverse city and we need talented professionals like you to join our team.
On a day-to-day basis you will accept referrals via agreed protocols and supporting those people in the self-management of their recovery. You will also provide telephone-based assessments and treatments, conduct group workshops and face to face assessments, give guided self-help advice to clients and contribute to the wider delivery of our services in the community. We will also rely on you to pass unsuitable referrals to the relevant service and to maintain prompt and coherent records of all clinical activity.
You will need a Diploma in Counselling alongside relevant experience, a degree or equivalent in your chosen field and the ability and appetite to translate that experience to deliver effective support within a short timeframe in line with the IAPT model. Applicants will need to understand this role will involve delivering a defined set of evidence based low intensity IAPT interventions delivered with the skill you have acquired in your profession to date. Successful candidates are normally offered salaries at the bottom of the relevant salary range. However, where previous or equivalent NHS experience in a similar role can be demonstrated and evidenced, this may be taken into consideration when setting the starting salary.
