Due to fundamental changes in the way our client supervises its yard operations and in order to improve customer service and performance, they are planning to introduce a highly skilled, flexible team of Production Supervisors. They require highly motivated people to deliver the requirements for their London based depot.
Reporting to the Production Manager these roles are customer focused and responsive in order to ensure delivery at the highest level. The role will also be key in making our client an integral part of the customer\'s supply chain, by working with the customer and the Production Manager to offer a solution that will provide a sustainable competitive advantage.
The main duties of the role are:
Carrying out train operations as directed by the Production ManagerSupervision of yard activities including deployment of groundstaff for locations in the London area to meet our client\'s customers\' train requirementsDevelopment of relationships with customers to improve the reputation of the clientBe the communication link between the customer and client\'s central officeDevelopment of skills to enable the individual to carry out location safety tours, basic track inspections, operation of loading/discharge plant, etcThis is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to be part of a fundamental shift in railway operations in the London area and to be at the very front of making our client\'s business safe, efficient and profitable, whilst also offering a sustainable competitive advantage to their customers.
These positions will require the individual to drive company vans, carry a company mobile phone and have a flexible \'can do\' attitude towards the tasks at hand. Shifts and weekend working will be required.
These positions are safety critical and are subject to attaining satisfactory medical standards and screening for alcohol and drugs.
Essential Candidate Requirements:
1. Hands on Supervisory experience. Working in a outdoor 3 shift challenging environment2. Basic IT Skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)3. Customer Service skills4. Problem solving5. Driving Licence and ability to drive manual gearbox van6. Rostering of team to meet resource requirements7. Capable of taking on new skills i.e shunter driving, basic maintainence
