ROLE To deliver Programme Management Support to the Companys Control Account Managers (CAMs) and Senior Management Team on the Queen Elizabeth Class (QEC) Aircraft Carrier Programme. This will involve utilising Planning, Earned Value Management, Risk and Change management competence to ensure successful delivery of the reporting requirement for the relevant team within the Programme. This will include an additional opportunity to support the management of complex equipments and systems on the 65,000 tonne class of ship. At The Coal Face TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES With the CAM / Work package manager, perform analysis of the Earned Value variances generated by the current schedule status and the collection of actual costs Construct robust, logically linked, resource loaded work package schedules in Primavera for the CAMs / Work package managers authorised scope of work enabling vertical integration with the summarized Programme Managers schedule and horizontal integration with other CAMs / Work package managers schedules Define the status of the work-package schedules on a monthly basis with Physical Progress, including remaining duration and remaining work for each activity in the work-packages Identify the impact on the work-package schedules of any proposed changes and incorporate any authorised changes into the work-packages schedules Identify trends in cost and schedule performance for the work-package, highlighting areas of concern Monitor and report on the status of all Mitigation Actions in the Risk Register owned by the CAM / Work-package Manager.
Assist the Risk Manager by interacting with the Risk Management Process: Identifying and updating Risks owned by the CAM / Work package manager; providing inputs to the Timescale Risk Analysis. Assist the Planning Manager in maintaining the companys Integrated Schedule Present to the Companys Programme Manager their CAMs performance figures at the monthly CAM reviews Take responsibility, on behalf of their CAM, for ensuring Change is processed in an expeditious manner Working with the Planning team, ensure adequate schedule definition is established to enable Earned Value Management in line with CVF standards Providing management accounting support across the appropriate team, including all aspects of resource control, bought outs and material expenditure ESSENTIAL & DESIRABLE SKILLS / PROVEN ABIILITY / KNOWLEDGE Ability with a Planning tool MS Project, Artemis, Primavera (not specific) Project budgetary control and purchasing systems/procedures Earned Value Management (Desirable) Change Management (Desirable) Risk management (Desirable) Proven ability with databases, spreadsheet compilation using Excel, Access, MS Project or similar tools (Highly Desirable) WE SEEK AN ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER WHO HAS WORKED IN A MILITARY / DEFENCE ENVIRONMENT / INDUSTRY WITHIN THE LAST 12 MONTHS OR WHO IS CAPABLE OF OBTAINING MOD SECURITY CLEARANCE (SC LEVEL MINIMUM)
