The jobholder will be responsible for developing and maintaining risk models for the HBEU portfolios, this will include acquisition scorecards, behaviour scoring and Basel models.

The role of the Analyst - Modelling is to This role is situated in the Modelling team within Risk Analytics. The jobholder will be responsible for developing and maintaining risk models for the HBEU portfolios, this will include acquisition scorecards, behaviour scoring and Basel models. You will be required to clearly cmmunicate progress and issues to stakeholder.
Your responsibilities will include:
Develop risk models for account opening and account management strategies and ensure that these are utilised appropriately to maximise returns
Develop Basel models to ensure that HSBC is fulfilling it’s regulatory requirements
Monitor portfolio models, providing insight into the model’s performance and working with stakeholders to recommend and action remediating actions where necessary
Liaise with key business stakeholders, understand the requirements and recommend appropriate analysis to drive projects to successful completion
Work closely with colleagues with Global Analytics Centre and support offshore project work
Formulate business problems and translate them into an actionable analytics plan
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Analytics experience in one or more of Basel modelling, scorecard development or risk analytics
Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Analytics or Risk Management
Experience of using relevant software packages, i.e. SAS (Statistical Analysis System) and SQL (Structured Query Language)
Availability to undertake the travel required for this role, i.e. occasional travel between different sites in London, Sheffield, Chester, Birmingham & Leeds may be required
Role relevant qualifications, i.e.Degree educated in numerate discipline or experience in relevant role is desirable but not essential

Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered
