Supervisory and Managerial Duties:
Manage the Engineering and Design team on the Contract/Project ensuring all responsibilities are dealt with accordingly.
Main Duties:
Assurance of Technical Integrity in products delivered to client.
Shall manage the engineering function through full scope of requirements of the contract.
Shall address technical queries when required and supporting the close-out group.
Responsible for the development of design policies, strategies and support capability of the engineering and design processes.
Responsible for the continuous improvement of the engineering process.
Shall motivate and co-ordinate subordinate project personnel, assisting in the resolution of problem areas and maintaining a personal interest in achievements.
Shall maintain an overview of schedule performance and output quality, communicating any deviance identified in the integrity of the team's objectives.
Responsible for maintaining relations with the client in respect of engineering and design issues when required.
Shall support the innovation process and seek opportunities to improve the Company position in the market place.
Shall maintain constant dialogue with other sphere managers in order to preserve continuity and momentum of progress.
Shall attend regular Safety, Health and Environmental awareness training provided by the company which will help meet the relevant requirements.
Assist with performance appraisals and salary reviews for engineering and design staff assign to the contract.
Assist with the selection and recruitment of technically competent staff.
Co-ordinate Engineering input to proposals on the contract.
Maintain an awareness of relevant current technology, changes to UK and International Standards and Codes of Practice and changes to UK legislation as it affects offshore and onshore work. Ensure Engineers are made aware of these new developments.
Education & Qualifications:
Degree qualification in relevant subject or minimum of HNC qualification with significant experience in Oil and Gas industry
Chartered Engineer with relevant recognised professional body
Experience:
Significant experience in the engineering industry, of which some must have been with a major Oil and Gas Contractor in a supervisory position, such as Lead Engineer role
Experience of managing a multidiscipline engineering team within a design office environment.
Experience in the development and application of the necessary process to assure technical integrity
