With over 60 years experience, this reputable engineering business designs, manufactures and supplies a comprehensive range of innovative equipment for the foodservice industry. Due to the retirement of one of their longest serving engineers, they now have an exciting opportunity for a meticulous Design Engineer to join the business and manage a varied range of stimulating projects.
Working within a team of five Design Engineers and reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the appointed individual will be responsible for equipment specification, project planning, creating detailed machinery drawings using advanced CAD Packages, heading design reviews and the testing and approval of final product. The role is predominantly office based, but on occasion the Design Engineer will be required to participate in onsite activities such as the initial introduction of new products, attending exhibitions for research purposes, and attending site where persistent problems need high-level technical support.
Suitable applicants will be qualified to a minimum level of ONC/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or Computer Aided Engineering and have at two years experience in the design of small to medium sized equipment for the food, pharmaceutical or another similar FMCG industry. They will be able to combine theoretical knowledge with a practical approach when specifying materials, components, proportions and arrangements for the machine`s design. Candidates must be proficient in the use of CAD design packages. Experience in the use of Autodesk Inventor would be desirable, but not essential as the company can off training on this package.
Remuneration: Basic salary up to £28,000pa + additional company benefits.
