Due to excellent business wins, my client is seeking to recruit another experienced Java software systems developer, not a web developer to join the growing software engineering team. Your duties will include development of core software systems, involvement in the complete software life-cycle: defining, prioritising, designing, building, testing and deploying software, working as member of our core team of friendly software developers who will help further develop your skill set.
Skills required - Degree in Computer Science or equivalent, professional experience in software development, solid java knowledge, (enterprise Java, Server side Java preferential NOT essential) an understanding of scalability and potential bottlenecks in large scale solutions is advantageous, strong database knowledge, comfortable working with RDBMS such as Oracle / SQL Server, DB2, or perhaps NoSQL, ability to work cross-platform, with Linux as focus but also Windows and/or MacOS, knowledge of C/C++ and/or scripting language like Python advantageous. Cassandra, OpenStack or Hadoop further advantagous. NOTE - Candidates are not expected to have all of these skills and training can be provided where there is a shortfall of experience.
