The Group/Team
The HR Directorate is one of seven responsible for providing firmwide support. (Business Development, Facilities, Finance, Human Resources, IT, Risk and Knowledge & Learning).
The HR Directorate consists of 21 people, led by Jane Wilson, Head of Talent with Oliver Bate leading the L&D team. We are organised into teams who provide Resourcing, HR Operations, Reward, Learning and Development, Diversity and HR Administration support to the firm.
The Role
This role will support the Learning & Development Manager and wider team and you will be responsible for the design content, delivery and evaluation of key L&D initiatives .
Principally but not exclusively, this will include:
- Working with the L&D Manager and Advisors to develop and implement high standard, robust L&D initiatives to support the business in the most relevant and cost effective ways available through needs analysis and stakeholder consultation
- Managing the day to day implementation and development of the newly qualified and associate solicitor development initiatives
- Being accountable for the AG induction journey ensuring that inductions run efficiently and that they project
- a professional and inspiring introduction into the organisation
- Using L&D theory to innovate, develop and influence the development of practical learning interventions
- One to one coaching and follow ups
- Acting as a consultant for the development of business support services L&D initiatives
- Ensuring that the content of all initiatives are up to date and relevant to the targeted population through liaising with key business stakeholders
- Overseeing the day to day relationships of external providers ensuring that they are fully appraised of business requirements and aiding the L&D Manager to ensure SLA's are agreed and met
- Ensuring that all initiatives are planned accordingly to meet business needs and all participants are made aware of initiatives in good time and provided with all relevant materials
- Ensuring that all initiatives are evaluated to the agreed level and analysis is provided to all key stakeholders
- Developing and maintaining relationships within the wider HR team enabling them to become ambassadors of learning within the business
- Being an ambassador for the AG Learning brand and help embed a learning culture throughout the organisation
Background
The successful candidate must have:
- An ability to build strong working relationships with
- Excellent communication skills.
- CIPD Certificate in Training Practice, L&D or equivalent
- Have a proven track record in the full learning cycle including engagement
- The ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
- A proactive "can-do" attitude and an ability to get things done.
- Strong organisational skills including the ability to plan ahead and prioritise workload.
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong team working skills.
- Flexibility to travel to our offices in Manchester and Leeds and London
- Experience of providing innovative ideas and solutions.
- Numerate, literate and with strong PC skills.
- The ability to adopt and maintain a confidential service.
