TEAM LEADER
The primary purpose is to have overall day to day management responsibility for all aspects of the retail service for HMP Downview and its serviced Prisons. The position will also supervise appropriate staff to achieve this aim and liaise with suppliers and HMPS staff to ensure agreed processes are correctly adhered to and improvements sought. This role is based out of HMP Downview.
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate a methodical yet flexible manner of working, ensure performance efficiencies to meet relevant KPI's, standards and deadlines. You will be a well organised, strong character with a will to drive continuous improvement both operationally as well as within your direct team. This is an opportunity to demonstrate a considerable and diverse set of management skills, at an exciting and very important stage of contract implementation. The successful candidate will prove their skills in change management, people development and the highest levels of stock and operational management within a demanding environment and therefore form a strong basis for their own personal and career development.
Key Accountabilities
Ensure that all daily duties, procedures and processes are completed and adhered to on a day to day basis to ensure a high level of service is received by the customer. Assist the Workshop Supervisor in managing a team or Order Distributors as appropriate by ensuring that each team member has the skill required to carry out their job role. Full compliance to all H&S regulations; ensuring that all H&S policies and procedures within their areas of responsibility are complied with, and fully maintained. Assist with the co-ordination, the dispatch orders to prisoners. Co-ordinate the orders to prisoners, ensuring orders are distributed within agreed times. Ensure all delivery queries are reported to Workshop Manager/Supervisors. Ensure all relevant DHL operational documents are completed accurately/timely. Ensure the returns procedure is followed in the event of stock being damaged or an unfulfilled order. Handling stock with care and consideration to minimise damages. Observe DHL personal and product hygiene requirements in line with legislation at all times, and adopt a "clean as you go" attitude within the work environment. Ensure agreed KPI's are met
Skills / Experience
Overall good standard of general education. Desirable. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Essential. Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules, Essential. Ability to count accurately and perform simple mathematical calculations, able to read, understand and follow instructions Essential. Ability to complete paperwork. Essential. Ability to move products, which may require bending, stretching, stooping, reaching and/or lifting in line with H&S regs. Essential. Able to use own initiative to solve problems. Essential. Good analytical and numerical skills.
Hours of work
40 hours, but as required due to nature of the role. Shifts requirements, day time only.
Salary and benefits
£8.54 per hour
