York CAB, like many others in the UK, are angry that so many of our children are living in poverty. York CAB has years of experience, helping families to both increase their incomes and make best use of what money they receive. The help we provide makes a real difference to people’s lives, but many of those most in need do not ask for our help.

This innovative project is about using the vast amount of intelligence we have in York about these families to identify them and provide them with advice on in-work and out-of-work benefits, help with debt, advice about financial capability and information about how to improve employment prospects. We are very grateful to have three years funding from the Big Lottery for this project, but we will be seeking alternative funding to extend the work beyond this time.
