Responsible to the Operations Manager for the efficient management of the Planned Preventative (PPM) and Reactive Maintenance (RM) in the Falkland Islands and the achievement of the monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and the completion the inspections and condition surveys in accordance with the FI Specific Schedules A, B and C.

Responsibilities

To ensure that Interserve's Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental standards are adhered to and maintained for all works undertaken by or under the supervision/management of your direct reports.

Ensure asset register and facility records are updated in compliance with the contract.

Create and maintain asset folders for each key asset/facility.

Issue asset reports to asset owner for team review and implementation of actions arising.

Assist PC ISP Operations Manager with implementing IEMPS based asset grading exercise.

Assist PC ISP Operations Manager with whole life assessment of key asset list and life cycle replacement. Support PC ISP Discrete Works manager using this data to populate 10 Year Works Register.

Provide PC ISP Operations Manager with impact statements where asset condition is not appropriate to IRL risk.

Manage Planning and Admin resources to organise work to minimise lost time, or non-productive time.

Monitor Help Desk tasks, to ensure response repairs are efficiently integrated with planned and reactive maintenance to meet contract deadlines.

Maintain meticulous records; job files, timesheets and appropriate job sheets for all tasks completed, ensuring all valid risk assessments and method statements are in place.

Undertake and oversee appraisals (PADP’s) for team and manage people issues using the support of the UK HR Support Team and General Manager.

Deputise in times of absence for the Operations Manager.

Carry out any other duties as directed by your line manager, or senior management team.

Knowledge skills & experience

Must have or be capable of obtaining MoD SC security clearance.

Must be capable of obtaining a permit to work from the Falkland Island Government (FIG).

Must be able to be declared medically and dental fit to work in the Falkland Islands through the Interserve Company Doctor.

Minimum of a recognised ONC or equivalent in a mechanical or electrical discipline.

Excellent level of computer literacy: Word, Excel, Project, Outlook and Visio.

Experienced and trained in the use and development of PPM Management Systems, such as Ultrasys/Maximo.

Minimum of IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.

Previous operational management in a similar role managing direct reports and delivering PPM and RM services on a MoD establishment to DIO Standards (Schedules A, B & C.

Demonstrate competent management of MIS (PPM HD) systems to task target completion dates.

Management of budgets and understanding of profit and loss and monthly financial reporting.

Demonstrate good analytical investigative and reporting skills.

Experience in delivering Customer Care and being focussed on the Needs of the Client.

Must be flexible and be prepared to travel and overnight as required.

Demonstrate experience of conducting staff appraisals.

Demonstrate a good understanding of JSP/MoD Safe Systems of Work in Electrical/Mechanical discipline.

Understanding of power distribution ring main and load shedding systems.

Technically competent and experienced to undertake and review Technical Building Inspections and advise the Client of future requirements.

Must have a full clean driving license for a car

Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certificate.(Desirable)

Membership of a recognised Engineering Institute such as the Member Institute of Incorporate Engineers (MIIE). (Desirable)

NEBOSH Certificate (Desirable)

Holds or has held Authorised Person qualifications for a mechanical or electrical discipline (Desirable)

Previous experience of working in the Falkland Islands or working abroad. (Desirable)

A knowledge of Interserve. (Desirable)
