Our client is looking for a permanent Infrastructure & Support Manager to lead the creation, delivery and maintenance of a worldwide infrastructure for a growing organization. You will provide clear strategic direction and support to ensure the organisation’s data, infrastructure and corporate network is scalable, reliable, secure and accessible. You will also be responsible for the effective operation of the department with a focus on strong leadership, people development and managing capability and capacity.
Key responsibilities
- Create and lead the implementation of an Infrastructure, Datacentre and Network strategy for the organisation, ensuring the future needs of the business are considered
- Provide global leadership of the Infrastructure and Support team, providing staff development, prioritisation and effective utilisation of resources. Ensure team and individuals objectives are achieved.
- Delivering and maintaining a robust and resilient worldwide infrastructure that meets the needs of the business.
- Influence change across our global business by working very closely with key business leaders to implement continual service improvements
- Identify infrastructure related vendors and make recommendations on suitable providers.
- Maintain vendor relationships to ensure services are delivered and meet business and commercial requirements.
- Ensure Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans are created, updated, documented and tested accordingly
- Effectively maintain the team’s resource plans, ensuring operational and project activities are delivered to time, cost and maintaining quality.
- Ensure Infrastructure and Support projects are delivered on time, within budget and to quality.
- Create and maintain the infrastructure technology roadmap
- Ensure the effective operation and administration of the company’s internal networks, servers, email and security systems
- Ensure incident and problem escalations are dealt with in a timely fashion
- Ensure infrastructure technology changes follow ITIL change and release management best practice
- Produce performance monitoring matrices to report availability of IT systems
- Ensure that infrastructure documentation is created and maintained
- Responsible for ensuring that system are correctly monitored and alerts generated and responded to appropriately
Required Skills and Attributes
- Preferably degree qualified
- Proven senior IT Management experience
- A proven track record of defining & driving IT strategy
- Significant experience of Microsoft infrastructure including Windows 7, Windows Server 2003/2008, Exchange 2010, SQL 2005/2008, IIS6, IIS7, IIS7.5, Active Directory including Group Policy
- Experienced in a Virtual Environment, preferably Hyper-V or VMware
- Understanding of networking and security best practices
- Solid enterprise level network implementation & support experience, utilising major networking vendors and equipment
- Experience of Disaster Recovery implementation
- Proven experience of delivering and implementing complex Infrastructure and Network projects
- You will have experience of ITIL best practice, including Change and Service Management
- Practical understanding of enterprise architecture principals and standards eg.TOGAF
- Excellent outsource and vendor management skills
- Experience of leading and influencing cross functional teams
- Experience of managing change
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
- Knowledge and proven experience of managing a team
- Demonstrate an ability to work under pressure, multitask and deliver timely and accurate work packages.
