Trading Analyst (12 months maternity cover)

We have over 300 stores across the UK and 40 new stores planned for this year. We are recruiting for a Trading Analyst to work within the Commercial Finance Team acting as a key finance contact for the Trading, Product Supply, Multi-Channel and Marketing teams. The role is a temporary role to cover maternity leave for a 12 month period. You will Report into one of the Commercial Finance Managers and key role responsibilities are as follows;

Key responsibilities;

• Analyse weekly trading sales and margin reports, highlighting any issues, performing analysis to understand trends and formulating action plans with the trading team to mitigate areas of under-performance
• Monitor and track results of any promotional activity to enable the team to make sound decisions regarding future promotional strategy at the weekly activity meeting
• Assess the impact of any operational decisions / actions that are taken
• Work closely with the wider teams to produce a robust business plan. Ensure we are on track to achieve this plan through the periodic reforecasting process.
• Analyse the impact of all media activity to understand impact on sales and margin
• Liase with marketing team to understand all test and learn activity being undertaken and provide support to assess the results.

Skills required;

• The successful candidate will be CIMA part qualified, or equivalent.
• You must have experience of commercial analysis, gained in either your current or previous roles.
• You will be PC literate, and it is essential that you have advanced excel skills with the ability to use formulas, V look up’s and pivot tables.
• Ideally the successful candidate will have experience of working in or with the retail industry.
• It is essential to have strong analytic skills and proven track record of influencing decisions through the conclusions / recommendations you have made as a result of your analysis.
• You will have excellent communication skills which will enable you to build strong internal relationships, with the ability to influence and challenge the Trading and Product Supply teams.
