HSE ADVISOR

Title: HSE Advisor
Reports To: HSE Manager
Deputy: None Applicable
Roles & Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Develop and continuously improve the Company's Safety Management System and
associated risk management tools.
Provide training and coaching in the Safety Management System, Risk Management tools,
and Safe Behaviour Programme.
Monitor the effectiveness of the Safety Management System through formal HSE audits
and inspections, on and offshore.
Advise on offshore regulatory requirements in the various areas of operation, and liaising
with governmental agencies as required.
Advise on, and implement, contractual HSE requirements, whilst liaising with Client HSE
personnel to assure consistency of advice.
Coordinate, and participate in audits and inspections carried out by Regulators, Authorities,
and Clients.
Participate in, and review of risk assessment and working environment studies and
activities carried out in support of the Safety Case.
Review the safety implications of proposed operational and engineering changes thereby
ensuring that operations remain within the safe operating envelope defined in the Safety
Case.
Develop various HSE deliverables such as HSE Programmes, Bridging Documents and
Medical Emergency Response Plans.
Assist in the maintenance of relevant certification e.g. ISM, ISPS, SOPEP, and ISO 14001.
Assist in the investigation and analysis of accidents and incidents, and in the preparation of
reports.
Ensure that learnings from accidents and incidents are shared and suitable remedial action
taken where necessary.
Develop and maintain emergency response plans, and member of the Emergency Response
Team.
Participate in the daily operational morning meeting, and on call emergency response duty,
on a rotational basis.
Provide HSE support to projects, shipyard visits, and Special Periodic Surveys.
Provide guidance to rig Safety Officers to ensure they perform their duties effectively and
consistent with their job descriptions.
Liaise with medical practitioners and assisting in the implementation of the Company's
medical and health related protocols and procedures.
Manage external consultancy relationships where expert guidance is required.
Prepare reports on HSE Performance and trends for management information and decision
making purposes.
Mentor HSE departmental members and support their continuing professional
development.
