My Client delivers world class claims management solutions to insurers, brokers, corporate firms and local authorities. Due to continued business grown they now have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Officer to support the network.
Candidates MUST have proven office and site H&S experience and a full clean driving licence. Salary is £30,000 to £35,000 + company car. The role will be based in the head office in Bromley, Kent and frequent travel will be required throughout the UK.
Brief outline of role:
The provision of H&S advice and support to managers and staff - ensuring H&S information and advice is readily available at all times and kept up to date, Management are advised of changes to legal requirements as appropriate
Maintaining an effective programme of Risk Assessments (eg Office, DSE, Home Worker, Fire), safety inspections and auditsRisk Assessments are up to date and carried out on a regular basis.
Undertake or arrange H&S training on a regular and ad hoc basis (i.e. quarterly Roadshows, Asbestos Awareness & Working at Height Training), ensure all locations have adequate number of trained Fire Marshalls and First Aiders
Ensure that accurate records are maintained of all H&S training activities, accidents and issues
Internal communications - H&S policy reviewed on an annual basis, H&S manuals and all other documentation kept up to date at all times.
Manage provision of H&S equipment
Audit of Site Risk Assessments - audited on a monthly basis and reports are produced for the Operational Risk Committee on a quarterly basis.
Liaise with refurbishment contractors regarding office moves and relocations
Essential experience/skills:
Proven site and office H&S experience essential (insurance background desirable but not essential)
Graduate member of IOSH (preferable but must have obtained a formal qualification)
Good report writing skills essential
Experience of carrying out full range of Risk Assessments for office and site environments
