My client is looking for a Graduate Technical Consultant / Trainee Technical Consultant who is looking to build a career in IT.

The client is a small business who specialise in providing consultancy services to some of the biggest Telecommunications companies in the world.

You will have strong PL/SQL and Oracle database skills, although this will not be a typical database development role.

You will be using COTS products which utilise the database.

The role role would be suited to graduates or junior developers looking for the next step in the career.

Applicants must be willing to travel as the role could require travel anywhere in the world.

Training will be provided, but we're also looking for individuals who are customer focussed, self motivating, can work well under pressure, and are pragmatic and proactive in achieving their targets.

Skills Essential:
=>Oracle Database

=>Oracle PL/SQL Programming

Skills Desirable:
=>Java Programming

=>XML

=>XSLT

=>UML Modelling

=>Javascript

Knowledge:
=>Basic understanding of Telecommunications network and understanding of how computers communicate, e.g.

TCP IP etc.

=>Understanding of different types of network topologies e.g.

Mesh, Bus, Star, Ring etc.

=>Any knowledge of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) e.g.

IP/VPN, VPLS etc will be advantageous though not necessary.

Experience:
=>Must be able to demonstrate a good understanding of programming concepts.

=>Previous experience of working in a development environment or consulting environment will be advantageous.

=>Experience of working with customers would be advantageous.

Academic qualifications

Minimum 2:1 achieved in Computer Science/Software Engineering or similar Degree awarded from a UK university.

Location details

Can be based from home, but may require travel to client's site and frequent travel to Leicester/Peterborough.
