Focusing on a consumer based market, this Marketing Manager role will have responsibility for providing leadership on the market, proposition development, competitor and brand positioning, using consumer insight to define the strategy and approach.
Activities will include, but not be limited to:
- Drive margin achievement for theconsumer sector by implementing marketing initiatives that achieve the company`s targets covering :
o New customer acquisition
o Customer retention
o Maximising customer value through cross-selling and margin maximisation
- Develop a high level of customer insight into theconsumer market, having a clear understanding of market size, customer needs and buying behaviour, competitor shares & activity and strategic positioning; utilising all these to develop effective strategies for achieving competitive advantage
- Develop strategies and ideas that achieve the company`s aspirations for theconsumer market, in particular to drive the development of the customer experience by influencing individuals throughout the business. Act as programme manager, managing individuals across the business to deliver initiatives that contribute to these aspirations.
- Work closely with the Marketing Database team to develop processes to evaluate, review and improve the effectiveness of marketing activities and to issue the results of these evaluations to key managers
- Educated to degree level in a marketing or business related subject
- Minimum 5 years experience in a marketing function in an operational role
- Minimum 2 years experience of delivering stretching financial targets, preferably with P&L influence / responsibility
- Evidence of having delivered effective marketing strategies and delivering most elements of the marketing mix, in particular direct marketing, telemarketing, advertising and on-line communications
- Highly influential individual, with experience of working successfully with a regional management structure to deliver business objectives
- Strong project management skills to ensure activity is delivered in full and on time with a high level of professionalism
- Highly numerate with budget management experience
- Evidence of having developed effective customer insight and translated this into successful customer propositions and initiatives
- Experience of preparing and delivering marketing plans and presentations
- Ability to work without direct supervision and to take responsibility for the delivery of key projects
- Experience of working with external marketing agencies
Desirable
- Experience of having to justify marketing activity in an environment where awareness of the benefits of marketing activity is limited
- Holds a post graduate marketing qualification
- Experience of working in a B2
