MAC- Production Support Engineer London up to 35k + Bens
Our client, a major digital media brand with a global presence, requires a Production Support Engineer with specific experience relating to Mac and the associated technology. The primary function of the Production Support Engineer is to support the production users and workstations, maintaining and troubleshooting systems as required, with the aim of providing a stable and fully-functioning production environment.
The Production Support Engineer is also responsible for the implementation of new production environments. This could range from setting up an on-location editing workstation to the setup of the technology in a new venture facility.
Responsibilities
Provide technical support to the video and print production teams.
Maintain and support video and print production systems.
Analyse and rectify technical faults on equipment and systems.
Escalate and formally report faults to specialist engineers (including third party support when required).
Provide technical support to all users for common problems such as groupware, server access.
Assist in the deployment of all business facilities and turnkey production systems.
Keep abreast of changes in technology by investigating new systems, techniques and equipment; especially Apple technologies.
Work with operators, producers, and clients to devise production and workflow solutions.
Communicate production issues with team colleagues and project stakeholders.
Keep up to date with the industry by building and maintaining a network of contacts.

Advanced knowledge of Mac OSX, Apple Final Cut Studio, Final Cut Server and Adobe Creative Suite.
A good understanding of the TCP/IP protocol suite.
Ability to configure and and troubleshoot network infrastructure hardware and software.
A good understanding of SAN and subsystem infrastructure hardware and software.
Be able to work independently as well as part a team.
Form good working relationships with post producers and operators.
Positive attitude towards problem solving and tight deadlines.
