Overview:
Chevron Upstream Europe (CUE) currently has an opportunity for a Contracts Advisor based in Aberdeen. This role will be in support of current Exploration interests in Onshore Europe Shale Gas in Poland and Romania. The role will be responsible for developing contracting strategies in alignment with business plans and drivers, ensuring delivery of targeted cost reduction and value creation to the company.

Position Details:
Key Job Responsibilities for this position:
- Lead strategic sourcing efforts. Conduct supplier qualification, prepare request for proposal documentation, coordination of subsequent evaluation / award recommendation, lead negotiations, contract development and ongoing administration. Ensure compliance and efficiency of contractors
- Accountable for the successful implementation and execution of the sourcing efforts and subsequent delivery of targeted cost reduction and value creation to the company
- Managing the eProcurement supplier process, including developing, loading and maintaining catalogues following any contractual changes
- Establishing and ensuring the needs and requirements of key internal and external stakeholders are met
- Conduct local, regional and international market analysis to keep abreast of critical market information, in order to make informed decisions
- Manage and review supplier performance by use of key performance indicators, customer satisfaction surveys and health checks
- Utilise sources as recommended in Corporate Strategic Cost Management training, such as category analysts, industry journal & indices, consultants and the internet
- Positively influencing contractor HES improvements and performance
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Strong working knowledge of contracting principles, including Contract drafting & formulation, legal requirements, Terms & Conditions and risk assessment
- Fluency in both English and Polish/Romanian would be advantageous, but not necessary, to aid timely translation of financial and business operational data from Polish operations.
- Understanding of EU Procurement Law and Polish/Romanian Procurement Law
- Experienced in developing contracting strategies, bid analysis and contractor performance metrics
- Working knowledge of Category Management process (Category Planning, Sourcing & Supplier Management)
- Proven business and commercial acumen, including negotiation skills
- Practice in procurement systems, including Ariba suite of eProcurement modules, related ERP SAP system and CHESM database familiarity
- A self starter able to manage multiple tasks in a high demand environment
- An effective team player, supporting internal partnering
