We have an exciting opportunity for experienced engineers to join our Aeronautical Lecturing team.
You will provide support to the delivery of programmes across the aeronautical engineering provision as appropriate. Teaching is across a range of practical and academic programmes ranging from full-time pre-apprenticeship and part-time advanced apprenticeship programmes to BEng (Hons) Degree students.
Ideally you will have a honors degree in Engineering and relevant Industrial experience. Teaching experience and Qualifications is essential. Assessor awards are desirable.
OBJECT OF JOB:
- To provide a vocational focus in both theory and practice in Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering.
- To support students in achieving their individual learning goals at FE and HE levels.
- With course team members assist in developing a relevant Aeronautical/Aerospace curriculum.
- To promote Equality and Diversity through teaching and tutorial.
DESCRIPTION OF MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To prepare and deliver lectures/practical lessons appropriate to the curriculum and related subjects across Further and Higher education.
- To maintain up-to-date student programme records.
- To prepare assessment strategies as appropriate to lead body/examiner requirements.
- In conjunction with the course team assist in planning the delivery of the curriculum.
- To carry out assessment of students and their work.
- To manage the teaching environment in a manner that facilitates effective student learning.
- To undertake tutorial duties as appropriate to the needs of the curriculum.
- In conjunction with team members, assist in all promotional activities within the school.
- To undertake other teaching duties as directed by the Head of School.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
EDUCATION ATTAINMENTS OR ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree or equivalent qualification related to aircraft maintenance
- An in-depth knowledge of the Aeronautical/MRO industry
- Teaching qualification (desirable)
ESSENTIAL WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Relevant industrial experience in Aeronautical/Aircraft maintenance
ESSENTIAL OR SPECIFIC SKILLS/COMPETENCIES OR APTITUDES:
- An ability to demonstrate a range of skills that will enabling teaching across a range of Curriculum related areas
- IT Skills
PERSONALITY/BEHAVIOURAL CHARACTERISTICS:
- Enthusiasm for the curriculum area and a desire to work as part of a team
- Flexible in approach to meet the needs of the curriculum and School
- Genuine interest in the education and welfare of young people
