Join the team building the UK ePeriodicals business for Amazon Kindle, and get in on the ground floor of initiatives with potential to transform the publishing industry. Kindle is seeking an experienced business builder to liaise with UK publishers across UK digital magazines and newspapers. Together with the leadership team in Luxembourg you will collaborate with strategic partners to grow their business, maximize store selection, develop effective marketing strategies, and enhance our customer experience.
You will work with existing, high-profile vendors and be instrumental in forging new vendor relationships in the UK. You will identify short-term growth opportunities and lay the groundwork for longer-term, strategic opportunities in the category.
Our ideal candidate will have deep experience in business analytics, strategic thinking, negotiation, and the dynamics of the periodicals publishing market segment, in addition to a strong track record in terms of forecasting, relationship building, and customer experience improvement in the online space. You also should be able to operate in a very fast moving environment and enable your business to innovate and scale quickly while meeting/exceeding financial and content acquisition targets. It is important that you thrive in a highly demanding but collegial environment where teamwork and the ability to work remotely are a must.
Role Responsibilities:
Together with the EU leadership team create and maintain a strategic plan for growing the UK ePeriodicals business on Amazon Kindle
Be involved in negotiations with vendors to enable growth, profitability, and long-term relationship success
Be inolved in recruiting and onboarding new vendors to expand the category’s selection
Identify opportunities for customer experience improvement and partner with internal teams to realize the opportunities in our store
Be part of the cross-functional leadership team and inspire the team to achieve our goals and improve our processes
Advise on the key business inputs of selection, price, and promotion to achieve our growth targets
Advise on improvements in Amazon’s vendor management systems and processes
The position can be based in London, Slough or Amazon's EU HQ in Luxembourg.
Candidates must be first-class communicators with outstanding organizational skills and also must be able to thrive in a highly demanding, fast-paced but collegial environment where teamwork is a must.
This individual will be an important team member contributing to customer experience of Kindle by working with new and existing publishing partners to increase the quantity and quality of titles available to customers.

Significant relevant commercial experience in media (preferably periodical publishing), digital content, ecommerce or mobile
Fluent English (written and spoken)

Comfort with - and demonstrated success in - negotiating complex and high-value agreements
