The Role:
Manchester United is one of the leading football clubs in world football, we have won 19 league titles, have been FIFA Club World Cup Champions, and have won three European Cups which have resulted in us having one of the strongest brand names in sport. As a result of these successes on the pitch we are now seeking the right individuals to continue these high standards and growth off the pitch.
At Manchester United we know how to put on the best show in world football. Back in 1966 we became the first Club anywhere to introduce executive boxes and since then our hospitality standards and experience have grown with our list of honours.
The Club currently has 26 suites and 180 boxes which can cater for a variety of needs. This includes the newly developed East Stand boxes with private balconies and optional dining facilities, the extraordinary Centennial Club suites which ooze luxury and style, to fine dining in the beautifully set Gallery suite.
As a Kitchen Manager you will be required to co-ordinate a team of various levels of chefs, to ensure that the kitchen operation runs smoothly and efficiently throughout service, whilst maintaining an appreciation of customer expectations. It is essential to build rapport with the Front and Back of House associates, warranting a high level of communication amid everyone involved in the operation. Duties involve preparing and cooking food, theoretically serving food to executive clients across the stadium on a Match Day.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate sound personal qualities such as; strong effective communication skills, self-motivation with passion for the job. You must have the stamina to be able cope in a highly pressurized environment, showing you are able to remain working closely within a team. The ability to multi-task is a necessity, whilst being organised and methodical.
We are looking for someone who has the aptitude to further develop themselves and the team around you. Certain skills will need to be displayed on how to teach and coach the team that you are managing. Competency will be tested on how you listen and take direction from Senior Management and implement that into your Match Day team.
A commitment to driving forwards continuous improvement in your working environment will be anticipated, exhibiting pride in performance and possess high standards in the provision of service to all of Manchester United’s executive clients and also internal users.
As much as possible each Kitchen Manager is allocated to work in the same kitchen for every Match Day. However due to business demand we may require you to relocate to another area for any Match Day or Event.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for all working areas and kitchen staff in the absence of the Sous Chef.
Organise, motivate, lead and manage your team.
Applying food knowledge and displaying management skill in the kitchen environment.
Ensuring systems are in place to control food production, distribution and waste on Match Days and Events.
Supervise and support in stock control, rotation and portion control within your area.
Extremely well groomed and presented at all times.
Maintain a high level of personal hygiene and to ensure that correct clean uniform and personal protective equipment are worn at all times.
Responsible for maintaining a record of all wastage .
Successfully prepare, cook and serve food to a high standard across the stadium.
Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that standards and regulations are followed.
Record all the relevant food temperatures on to the appropriate paper work and complete any other relevant paperwork when necessary.
Ensure a deep clean is conducted in your area of work at the end of your shift, whilst maintaining cleanliness of kitchens throughout.
Report any service issues to the Front of House Manager.
Return all completed paperwork and probes to the Sous Chef.
Report all repairs and maintenance issues to the Back of House team.
At all times maintain a good working relationship with other members of staff and effectively manage and motivate staff responsible to you.
Carry out any additional duties reasonably requested by management.
Execute additional responsibilities when requested by the Head Chef or the Staffing Department.
Subject to Match Day performance review by the Staffing Department.

To adhere to and help enforce all Health and Safety standards, company rules, regulations and policies at all times.
Experience: The Successful candidate should be able to demonstrate:
A Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in food preparation and kitchen management.
Awareness of Health and Safety sanctions.
Knowledge on how to use major cooking kitchen equipment including; stoves, rationales, combination oven-grills, brat pans and refrigerators.
Basic math skills.
Computer literate.
Candidates must have previous experience as a Kitchen Manager and have a valid, in date basic food hygiene certificate.
Self-Development
To undertake any necessary internal training sessions as required and to assist with the provision of the training and development of colleagues as required.
Security/Stock Control
Ensure compliance with all of the Company’s security, stock control, loss prevention and key holder procedures.
Ensure effective communication within your work team and actively offer support as necessary.
