Quality Assurance (QA) Manager - Supplier Engineering

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is a leading engineering business within the defence sector that has an opportunity within the Supply Chain Management & Quality Assurance Department for the role of Supplier Quality Assurance Manager. Experience managing suppliers in an engineering business and strong team leadership experience is essential for this role.

Main activities will include, but not be limited to:
Liaise with customers, suppliers and partners to provide advice and guidance and where necessary formal correspondence regarding quality requirements for suppliers.
Provide relevant KPI data to line management for departmental progress review or inclusion in the Quality Brochure for top management.
Implement the local Stakeholder Relationship Management Plan for your department's internal and external, customers and suppliers, based on the Directorate Stakeholder Relationship Management Policy.
Provide a supplier approval service which supports the delivery of quality product from suppliers.
Provide Quality System Assessment input to Procurement's Supplier Selection process such that only suppliers with the necessary capabilities are selected.
Conduct a supplier / product re-assessment process to determine the need for product audits to be conducted to confirm continued satisfaction.
Provide guidance to AW Procurement and Engineering plus external suppliers regarding Supplier Quality matters to assure or improve conformance to AW Quality Standards.
Prepare and manage a supplier audit programme, lead or assist in Supplier Quality Audits. Ensure resulting actions are closed within the agreed timescales.
Manage your team to ensure objectives and activities are completed within specified time scales.
Ensure all staff are clear on their roles and responsibilities and the level of performance that is expected of them. Provide constructive feedback.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Educated to HND or equivalent standard or have significant relevant experience in Aeronautical, Avionics, Electrical, Software or Mechanical disciplines.
• Relevant managerial experience.
• Lead Assessor approved with practical experience of ISO 9001:2000 and EN/AS9100.
• Sound knowledge of Regulatory standards such as EASA Part21G and FAA FAR21. A good knowledge of EASA PART21J and EASA/FAA Part 145 is a plus
