Solicitor is sought by this respected practice. You will be responsible for undertaking, with limited supervision, commercial and residential conveyancing casework.
Main Responsibilities
- To undertake client work relating to commercial law in accordance with rules of professional conduct and procedures set out in the firm's manual / departmental case management manual.
- To undertake conveyancing transactions (sale and purchase of residential property, mortgage transactions, assured shorthold tenancy agreements) in accordance with rules of professional conduct and procedures set out in the firm's manual / departmental case management manual.
- To adopt efficient working practices that will help ensure that commercial targets are achieved or surpassed.
- To assume responsibility for the supervision of any secretarial / paralegal support - to include daily task allocation and supervision.
- To attend, on request, departmental meetings, marketing and training sessions and make a positive contribution to them.
- To be familiar with, and ensure the effective practice of, office health & safety regulations.
- Any other duties as may be reasonably required.
Key Tasks (relating to above Responsibilities)
- To undertake new files / matters on behalf of the firm. Specifically to conduct client interviews, take instructions, offer advice, undertake legal research & analysis, draft & revise documents and undertake other such tasks as may be appropriate to the area of work.
- To make judgements on the operational and commercial viability of new matters - taking guidance from the Head of Departments where necessary.
- To be responsible for setting fees, time recording, billing matters and recovering costs & disbursements in line with in-house policy and guidelines.
- To maintain and manage files according in line with in-house policy and guidelines and any appropriate professional regulatory requirements.
- To make full use of such technology and software (e.g. digital dictation, case management systems etc.) as may be provided.
- To ensure that a high standard of professionalism and client care is maintained at all times.
