The group consists of 3 divisions being Engineering and Production Facilities, Well Support and Gas Turbine Services.
My client is an international leader in both marginal field developments, in life-of-field engineering and in production support.
BASIC PURPOSE OF JOB:
Structural Engineer - to be based in Altens/Tullos location.
SUPERVISORY AND MANAGERIAL DUTIES:
Supervision of assigned discipline personnel
Give technical direction and guidance to design personnel
MAIN DUTIES:
Execute engineering activities (Concept, FEED, Technical Study & Detailed Design), under the guidance of the Lead/ Senior Engineer
Ensure that work output complies with the relevant procedures
Provide technical assistance to discipline assigned staff as required
Ensure as far as practically possible all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule
Keep up-to-date with technical developments, national and international standards and legislative requirements related to the scope of the discipline
Review work/work output of discipline assigned staff as required
Prepare estimates and assist in the review of proposed schedules
Ensure that results of any development work are fully utilised in discipline activities
Participate as necessary in discussions with Client and visit jobsites when necessary
Assist the Lead or Senior Discipline Engineer when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and duties
HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shall take into account all aspects of the "Health and Safety at Work etc. Act (1974)".
Knowledge of, compliance with and promotion of office, site and contract/project health and safety guidelines and procedures.
Comply with my clients Safety Management System
Take part and contribute to construction risk assessments and construction method statements
Take into account all relevant procedures, guidance etc. relating to the work, which will ensure compliance with my clients Safety Management System
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree, HND/HNC or equivalent in structural engineering or a related discipline.
SPECIFIC TRAINING / SPECIALIST SKILLS:
Sound knowledge of structural engineering principles and the ability to reflect these in various engineering projects from concept to detailed design.
KNOWLEDGE & PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF SOME OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING ENGINEERING TOPICS:
" Greenfield & Brownfield Topsides modifications
" Use of STAAD analysis package
" BOSIET Offshore survival certification
" Current engineering design codes including AISC
EXPERIENCE:
Engineering awareness preferably in offshore engineering or alternatively in the petrochemical industry.
Relevant experience should be in the development of a sound knowledge of structural engineering principles and the ability to reflect these in engineering projects from conceptual to detailed engineering stages.
