Our Belfast City based Client is a major manufacturing player who fabricates huge Industrial components for cutting edge exploration industries. On behalf of this Client we have been tasked to source a Quality Control Inspector for an initial 6 month role which may be extended. Candidates must have previous quality inspection experience that includes exposure to metrology / precision measuring systems and technical drawings. The purpose of the position is to ensure that goods comply with engineering drawings.
The Role
You will check large metal items with a value of between 1K and 100K
Complete calibration of measuring and inspection devices in line with schedule
Verify functional tests to ensure compliance with specifications and project drawings
When required you will establish problems and remedy the situation
You will liaise with with Quality Control Supervisor, Production Supervisor, Quality Engineers, Design Engineers and Welding teams.
The role may involve 1 weekend every month or two in Scotland/China/Asia
The Person
You will have a good knowledge of Metrology and ideally have some formal qualification.
You will be experienced in the use of precision measuring instruments.
You should be able to demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of metal fabricated items- the larger the better.
Have a good understanding of technical drawings.
Excellent written and communication skills.
