The Client: This leading Wealth Manager is part of a major global financial services provider who engage in a large variety of Financial Service activities covering retail and investment banking through to wealth and investment management services.
The Role: You will be accountable for leading the Client Money and Asset Return (CMAR) and Management Information (MI) Reporting Team. They will deliver exceptional quality regulatory monitoring and reporting services, covering the FSA Client Money and Assets rules (CASS) across a diverse range of business segments, including investment management and brokerage. The team has responsibility to ensure that the monthly CMAR return is complete and accurate and is producing robust variance analysis and commentary for senior management, including regular MI, ensuring group wide consistency of definitions, undertaking end to end reviews of the CMAR data provided, on-going independent review and challenge of known/potential issues.
You will be the key contact within the CASS team and will be the liaison between the Compliance Team and the firms' external auditors. You will be responsible for co-ordinating all audit and regulatory requests across all relevant entities and working in conjunction with the Compliance Team to deliver the findings to both senior management and to the auditors. Additionally, you will be responsible for addressing actions from the audit reviews and ensuring findings are implemented in accordance with the FSA CASS rules and guidelines.
Core accountabilities include leading a high performing team to deliver regulatory monitoring and reporting activity, providing excellent customer service to a number of key stakeholders and being involved in change and project based activities which directly impact the team.
The Person: You will be a Subject Matter Expert in CASS reporting as you will be a key contact within the business for these regulatory matters. You must have experience of the regulatory aspects of financial services, with in depth knowledge of FSA regulatory requirements as this will be essential to the role, as will the ability to understand and manage the audit process and be able to present issues to auditors. You will have a proven track record within an operational risk environment, demonstrating a well developed understanding of regulatory processes and the concept of risk management and control.
