We are looking for a Consultant to join Excelian’s Technical Consulting Division team to provide support to grid computing environments.
Due to the nature of the work all applicants MUST be eligible to work in UK and travel freely to EU clients without any restrictions.
Main duties
To provide on-site professional service support for Grid Technologies ( Platform, Datasynapse, Microsoft HPC)
Assist in the set up and configuration
Assist developers in the on-boarding and testing of application
Provide knowledge transfer and best practice ( verbal and written) around how to administer
Provide high quality, efficient support services to business users while adhering to support standards, as determined by support management
Supporting the user testing activities
Investigate problem and determine root causes related to grid computing and business application
Continuously and proactively improve support services where possible

Required: Knowledge of Platform Symphony: internal architecture, general configuration (logging, applications, services), command line/webgui interface
Knowledge of Java HotSpot tuning
Windows/Linux scripting
Experience in troubleshooting complex grid application ( ideally Platform Computing)
Demonstrate experience of problem solving within an IT environment
Knowledge of one of the programming languages ( Java, C#.Net)
Vbscript, Bash, Python, Perl (One of the following is required)
Advantage - preferable but not essential
Other Grid computing technologies: Tibco GridServer, Windows HPCServer
Distributed systems
