Thermal Service Generator business at Stafford is looking for talented individuals to join the existing team, if you are enthusiastic, possess the right skills and are looking for a career with a global company then you could be the person we are looking for.

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer for the Generator Outages team based in Stafford, UK. Our key role is to provide technical support to outage activities on Generation equipment up to 350T, 2 and 4 pole machines generating up to 1200MW installed around the world.

Work Assignments

As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will report to the Section Head of the team, and you will be responsible for providing technical support to servicing and outage activities on Power Plant sites across the world.

More specifically your main responsibilities will cover:


Technical support and consultancy direct to customer as part of maintenance fleet support process.



Technical direction and support for Service Engineers worldwide for onsite repair and maintenance of generators & exciters.



Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical generator problems and analyse inspection and test data.

Qualifications

Your Profile

You have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical degree. Preferably, you also have experience with Generator products. You will have a g

ood understanding of materials, manufacturing, measurement and test, tribology and mathematical analysis..

As a person you are independent and result-oriented with strong analytical skills, and you are a dedicated team player capable of motivating the members of your project team. You thrive in a multicultural environment and possess excellent communication and English skills both orally and in writing.
