Local Authority Policy Officer with strong background in campaigning
£35000 per annum
This Friendly Government run office in S.E.1. are looking for a good Local Authority Policy Officer. This is a new position so we are looking for someone who can make their mark on the role.
Identify, create new and develop current working relationships
Influence policy making with regional and local stakeholders within the private sector and other external agencies
Plan and implement campaigns
Keep abreast of current political climates
Manage internal communications on public policy issues
Produce high quality written briefing materials
Attend local meetings and party events
Proactively seek new contracts and support current working relationships to enhance policy making
Produce and create local engagement campaigns
Monitor and keep up to date with the current political climate, working with the policy team
Research and develop local advocacy and campaigns to support objectives
Write, draft and develop briefing materials.
Must have experience of campaigning, public affairs and public policies and have good working knowledge of the local regional and devolved political institutions . Have excellent communication skills.
Knowlegde of the UK housing policy is desirable as is experience of working with trade associations and volunteers. Possess a clean UK driving licence.
Lobby Local Government, Build relationships with Stakeholders, keep up to date with the housing laws nationally and locally and maintain relationships with local representatives.
