Piping Technical Authority

An ongoing contract opportunity to work with an International Energy Service Company .This multi national engineering company is an international leader in both marginal field developments, in life of field engineering and in production support.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Technical screening of MoC requests
• Review and approve of SCRAa
• Approval of system/discipline specific operating procedures
• Consult other Technical Authorities and Subject Matter experts as required
• Works with Project Teams to ensure that the project delivers equipment that meets the business units expectations. Attend design reviews and PEER Assists as required
• Challenges the status quo to ensure impact of boundary issues between disciplines or due to changes in other disciplines are not overlooked
• Continuously seeks to identify opportunities to improve safety so far as is reasonably practicable through improved processes, systems or equipment.
• Provides Incident Investigations and technical support to incident investigations.
• Reviews and approves/rejects requests for deferment of safety critical maintenance.
• Reviews on an annual basis the ongoing suitability of the SCEs for which he is designated the Lead Tech Authority
• Maintains contact with Subject Matter experts in ETC and external organisations

Acting of behalf of the client with respect to providing Technical Authority decision making and approval for ongoing operations and new projects being managed by the EPC contractor.

Duties

• Provide the client with Technical Decision making for ongoing piping clarifications ( fitness for service type decision making).
• Act as a discipline Technical Authority for offshore risk assessments.
• Work Closely with the clients existing Maintenance, Reliability and Integrity department to evaluate Offshore Inspection Engineers reports filtering works requiring immediate repair.
• Work with piping department in Aberdeen and Glasgow and provide assurance that the engineering designs produced are in line with CUEs technical expectations.
• Integrity and ability to stand by decision making
