Our client is a well known organisation based in North Down. A position has arisen for a Training Support Officer to join their team based in Lisburn. You must be Enhanced Access NI Security Cleared for this position.
JOB PURPOSE
To provide a quality placement and monitoring support service for the efficient and effective delivery of TFS and Steps to Work programmes.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Development of Training Programmes
Build and maintain links with the Head of Training Organisation, academic staff, administrative staff, employers and other relevant staff on all aspects of the Jobskills/Training for Success and/or New Deal/Steps to Work programmes
Build and maintain links with parents/guardians, Careers services and other appropriate external agencies
Provide support for recruitment and marketing initiatives
Attend regular formal meetings with academic and other relevant staff involved in the training process
Process all the necessary documentation for trainees/clients, pertaining to Jobskills/Training for Success and New Deal/Steps to Work programmes, including Participating Partnership Agreements and Delivery Agreements
Collect and process examination certificates/results slips prior to entry
Monitor trainee/client progress in relation to the requirements of the occupational frameworks and targeted qualifications in order to ensure successful achievement for the trainee/client
Issue and record items of protective clothing and equipment assigned to trainees/clients
Utilise the capability of the TMS and other management information systems
Ensure the timely submission of participant/trainee timesheets and take appropriate action.
Arrange appropriate workplace training/employment for trainees/clients
Ensure employers’ understanding of their role in the training process
Ensure that the workplace meets general Health & Safety requirements and bring any issues that require attention to the Training Organisation Administrator
Ensure that all accidents are reported and recorded according to College procedures and Health and Safety Executive procedures within the required timescale
Ensure that the employer has current Public and Employer Liability Insurance for the duration of the trainee/client period in training and that a copy of insurance is held on file
Negotiate and monitor employer contributions to the Training Organisation
Provide on-going induction for trainees to ensure awareness of correct procedures and requirements for their specific programme
Visit trainees/clients to an agreed schedule and complete trainee/client progress reviews within the prescribed timeframe
Liaise with vocational and essential skills tutors to complete Personal Training Plans and input PTP information on to TMS
Adhere to the College’s Student Discipline Policy and Procedures regarding trainee/client discipline and process the necessary paperwork to the appropriate external contacts
Negotiate with employers on trainee transition from non-employed to employed status and process all relevant documentation in order to maximise funding
Process all relevant documentation regarding payment of employer bonus
Provide a mentoring service in conjunction with other relevant personnel
Essential Assessment Criteria
Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
6 months experience in a placement and monitoring, trainee support or administrative role within a training environment
A current driving licence and access to a car or have access to a form of transport that will enable the post-holder to fulfil the role in full
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
Desirable Assessment Criteria
Experience of working on Steps to Work / Training for Success programmes
Salary will be £9.14 per hour and will be paid weekly. This is a full time post and will last till end of September.
