Their Environment and Infrastructure business in the UK delivers environmental and engineering services to a broad range of clients including oil and gas companies, water companies, regulators, energy providers, industrial and commercial organisations, waste operators and government.
To deliver further growth through service provision to existing and new clients an exciting new role has become available based in Aberdeen. This position will give you the opportunity to play a key role in the future growth and development of an already successful environmental & engineering consultancy, providing a range of technical environmental services focusing on oil & gas customers and supporting other renewable energy and marine market projects from their Aberdeen location.
You will work with customers and colleagues to develop their position, leading on customer relationship building, account development, directing bid response, taking on Project Director responsibilitys and business management functions as necessary to grow their operation and breadth of services for the UK and European market region. You will have extensive knowledge of market requirements, contracting and service delivery models for the sector.
Objectives of the Role:
Collective contribution and responsibility with the Sector and Product Group Directors to implement the Energy Sector business strategy.
Lead, develop, grow and deploy a team of mixed discipline environmental consultants, working in a fully integrated manner with the rest of the business delivering a fee earning utilisation in line with budget.
Direct business development activity including the identification, positioning, bidding, negotiating and winning of new work in line with budgeted sales targets, linking as necessary their range of services.
Direct the operational delivery of environmental contracts to their customers in Aberdeen.
Manage and develop key customer relationships to deliver sustainable profitable growth.
Invest in the development of new services and products responding to customers emerging needs generating incremental new income (targets to be developed).
Degree or equivalent in an Environmental discipline. A postgraduate degree (or equivalent) and / or chartered membership to a relevant industry body is preferred.
You must be able to demonstrate that you have the capability and experience to grow the environmental consultancy business, and their intention is to increase their team significantly over the next 3 years and develop a sustainable business beyond this horizon. Therefore they are looking for a dynamic business leader who can achieve this growth and is looking for a long term role in the development of sustainable and profitable business. Your core technical capability will be an environmental discipline that is relevant to the sector and complimentary to the existing services of the division. You should be able to demonstrate having held principal levels of technical service delivery and be suitably informed of regulatory, commercial and reputational drivers for customers that procure environmental, risk, safety and other technical services. Your qualities will also include the ability to work with technical staff in the development of products and services aligned to market requirements. An environmental background that has been applied to the oil & gas, energy and other highly regulated industries. Experience of management within a corporate environment and operating at senior management level is essential. Experience in developing and managing existing business within the area or field of your background as well as successful execution of strategic planning and account development to sustain business growth and commercial governance. Established network of relationships and ability to foster service and staff development to maintain a sustainable business future.
