Sr Manager, Operations

Amazon is hiring across the UK as we continue to grow our business. We currently have roles open for Senior Operations Managers in Gourock and Dunfermline in Scotland, Cardiff, and Milton Keynes and Hemel Hempstead in England. We also have fulfillment centers in Birmingham and Peterborough.

To deliver to every customer what they want and when they want it NOW and in the FUTURE by effective leadership of an Amazon Fulfillment Centre. To fully engage the workforce within FC to drive Continuous Improvement and Operational performance excellence.

Leads delivery of all targeted Business Plan metrics across productivity, quality, cost, safety and people
Leads and drives staff planning, schedules, quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other ACES / Six Sigma initiatives to enable Operations and ultimately the FC to attain Amazon’s Business Plan
Manage a team of more than 1,000 employees within a demanding, fast-paced/time-critical and multiple product line environment
Leads a cross disciplinary team to regularly review manager performance levels to continuously improve strategies
Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and procedures
Maintains a complete leadership overview and thorough understanding of inventory in a multi-product automated environment
Implements change and/or develop new processes as required to provide ability to better direct ship multiple products to multiple locations and geographies
Continuously measures and evaluates the departmental goals and all work processes
Sets/clarifies requirements and expectations for all cross functional direct reports
Leverage off Operations, Area Managers, and Team Leaders to source and nurture ideas and roll them into the creation of improvement plans for the FC
Take proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments and shifts and the wider Amazon network
Works effectively with support staff (HR, Financial Manager, Safety & Loss Prevention Manager, IT Manager, Engineering) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives
Leading an Amazon FC by managing in-house logistics as well as the internal interfaces to vendors and carriers
