Petrofac Offshore Projects & Operations is the first choice provider of operations management, maintenance, and engineering and construction services to the oil, gas and petrochemical industries. We are seeking to recruit a Telecommunications (Telecoms) Technician based onshore at BHP Billitonâ??s Point of Ayr Terminal with some requirement for offshore working to support the UK Production Unit (UKPU) as needed.

Roles / Responsibilities:
The safe and efficient operation and planned maintenance of UKPU telecoms and security systems
Performing all necessary servicing, condition monitoring, fault diagnosis and restorative maintenance duties and tasks safely, efficiently and effectively on Telecoms and Security central and field equipment
Assisting specialist contractor personnel as necessary in the undertaking and execution of preventative and corrective maintenance activities and tasks on Telecoms and Security equipment
Provision of ad hoc support for Communications, Security and IM systems project implementation
Provision of ad hoc support to UKPU Information Management systems
Provision of ad hoc support to UKPU Control Systems
Supporting UKPU offshore installations out of hours for one week in five in line with rota.
Acting as Limited Authorised Electrical Person â?? Grade C when nominated and deemed competent by Authorising Engineer in accordance with BHP Billiton Electrical Safety Rules.
Carrying out isolations/de-isolations in accordance with Company Operating Procedures and Electrical Safety Standards.
Keeping up to date with hazardous area working legislation and regulations.
The safe and efficient performance of allocated production duties and tasks.
Compiling and maintaining personal records of competence (CPP)

Experience:
Understand and ensure full compliance with the Clientâ??s safe systems of work and other associated HSE processes.
Proven Communication systems (Radio and Wired) experience and literacy.
Conversant with Marine radar systems would be an advantage
Conversant with Information Management systems would be an advantage
Conversant with 1SAP maintenance systems would be an advantage
Understanding of operational procedures, documents and drawings
Experience in Oil and Gas / Petrochemical production, maintenance or engineering
Ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels of the organization
Proactive and positive approach
Ability to analyze and trend data to troubleshoot and provide continuous improvement
