Would you like the opportunity to join an experienced and highly motivated team within Criminal Justice, you will be expected to assist offenders along their journey to recovery from Drug and Alcohol addiction. This will involve both clinical and physco-social interventions. The main aim of our service is to help offenders recover and reduce offending, making our communities a safer place to live.
Ideally you will have a relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience in a Criminal Justice/ health or social care setting with:

Experience of assessing service users’ needs and involving them in the planning of their care

Experience of inducting and mentoring junior members of staff

Experience of working as part of a team in order, to achieve a shared vision/goal. Experience of maintaining quality standards in ones work

Experience of delivering Arrest Referral, Required Assessment, conditional caution, and other initiative to drug and Alcohol users involved with the criminal justice system.

You should have the ability to handle challenging situations and behave in a professional manner, be able to communicate with a wide range of people including: service users, carers, members of the public and other professionals

Have a positive regard for substance misusers and to understand the importance of involving them in their care

Ability to use one’s own initiative and work autonomously, seeking support and advice where necessary and have good organisational skills.

Ability to present information in an effective and professional manner

IT skills and ability to use Microsoft Word, spreadsheets, Internet and e.mails

Commitment to one’s own professional development

Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults

Knowledge of the physical, psychological and social effects of substance misuse and appropriate interventions and an understanding of the complex needs of this client group

Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System and Drugs Intervention Programme

Knowledge of quality assurance frameworks used within the substance misuse field

An awareness of policies & procedures in relation to confidentiality, information sharing, and child protection

Be prepared to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service
