Senior Network Engineer working within the Network Engineer team to maintain the high availability and integrity of the network infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
Incident management and fault resolution for internal and customer Local and wide Area networks to meet internal and customer SLA.

Configuration and implementation of new network equipment.

Configuration and upgrade of existing network equipment.

Provide technical escalation for NOC/Helpdesk/Internal and external customers.

Adhere to change control and internal best practises and procedures.

Assist and carry out regular audits to ensure system integrity.

Assist during maintenance windows and other out of hours work.

Work with architectural teams to ensure accuracy of design and solution deployment.

Qualifications

Requirements:
Essential:
Strong Cisco LAN and Routing skills - preferably CCNP certifications or greater.

Strong firewall skills - preferably Checkpoint.

Strong troubleshooting capabilities.

Strong communication (verbal/written) skills.

Excellent documentation skills.

Flexibility to working hours.

A strong team ethos but with an ability to work unattended.

Sound knowledge of IT.

Desirable:
Strong knowledge of network security.

Strong knowledge of network load balancing mechanisms.

Working knowledge with Cisco Nexus data centre switches

Knowledge of global load balancers.

Used to working in high pressured environments.

Familiarity of working within a data centre environment.

ITIL certification or experience of working within an ITIL oriented organisation.
