The Senior Technician will be performthe same tasks as the Technicians but will have the added responsibility forsupervising work allocation; ensuring processes are followed and documented;and recommending performance improvements and enhancements as identified.
Experience required
- Attentionto detail. Proven ability to identifythe smallest of issues, QA others’ and own work. Work is accurate to the highest level.
- Detailedproduct knowledge in the areas of electronic documents, eDiscovery databases,searching, objective coding, and litigation support hosting platforms and theEDRM model.
- Advancedtechnical skills including the ability to communicate technical solutions in anon-technical manner.
- Theability to use initiative to apply technical skills and knowledge to practicalsolutions to business needs and problems.
- Advanceduse of Access – ability to design advanced and complicated queries.
- Advancedunderstanding of file types and the ability to use this to analyse errors inEDD processing and to analyse EDD processing results.
- Communicationskills (written and oral) must be sufficient be able to communicate clearly toboth internally to project managers and directly with external clients.
- Provenability to train and develop junior members of staff and to share informationand knowledge whether in the format of group training sessions, one to onetraining or in drafting processes and documentation to be followed.
Preferred:
- Useof SQL (performing queries);
- Somescripting skills, most usefully visual basic or database scripting so as toperform more advanced aspects
- Staffsupervision experience
- Advancedclient communication skills – i.e. proven ability to be the main point of contacton a project for instance on a highly technical project or to run in the‘Project Management’ capacity smaller projects that require standard processingor load file creation.
- Understanding of IT network, infrastructure,servers, back-up systems etc that would assist with aspects of collection orprocessing of electronic documents.
There is considerable scope fordevelopment of skills and advancement in this role as new software platformsare adopted and as the size of the team grows in any number of directions.
